Frequently Asked Questions

Cancellation of an event

Registered tours can be cancelled in writing at up to seven days before the date. After that, we will invoice you for the costs.

Clothing and wardrobe

Please note that our exhibition rooms are air-conditioned.

Our cloakroom (not guarded) is at your disposal during the entire opening hours. We have lockers available for smaller items. Collection containers are provided for school classes, for which you will receive the key at the ticket office.

Wearing clothes over the arm is not permitted in our exhibition rooms for security reasons. Larger bags, backpacks, suitcases and similar items must be handed in at the ticket office.

Prams and wheelchairs

You may of course use prams and non-powered wheelchairs in our exhibition rooms. The only exception is that access to the upper floor (book workshop) is unfortunately only possible via stairs.

We provide seating for visitors with limited mobility. Groups with several wheelchairs are kindly requested to register in advance in order to facilitate faster access to the exhibition.

Food and drink

Eating and drinking is not permitted in the exhibition rooms.

Toilets and baby changing area

The toilets are located on the ground floor. One toilet can also be used with a wheelchair. The anteroom of the toilets has a baby changing area. Other toilets are located in the basement.

Duty of supervision and settlement of claims

As an accompanying person, you are responsible for supervising your group of children and young people for the entire duration of the visit. Upon arrival, we will provide you with a corresponding form to sign. Please support the museum guides to ensure that the tour runs smoothly for all participants.

Please inform your group that no shouting or running is allowed inside the exhibitions. During a guided tour, objects that have been faithfully recreated may be distributed to the group to work with. Please ensure that these objects are handled with care. It goes without saying that all objects will be returned to the museum guides at the end of the tour.

Safety instructions

The Bibelhaus is an experience museum. Many things are possible here that are not feasible in other museums. Nevertheless, we ask you and your group to follow the instructions of our staff for conservation reasons.

Photo, sound and film recordings

Photography in the museum is only permitted without flash. The museum administration will grant permission to professional photographers or sound and film technicians on request.

We would like to point out that any permission granted by us only refers to the house rights of the Bibelhaus Erlebnis Museum and does not make any statement about the permissibility of the production and use of photographs under copyright law.

We would also like to point out that we make our own photo, sound and film recordings at our own events and publish these in various media (print, audio and online media etc.). The recordings will only be used for publications for press and advertising purposes on behalf of the Bibelhaus Erlebnis Museum. These are in particular print media such as flyers, exhibition brochures, billboards and posters as well as online media such as websites, blogs etc. In this respect, in accordance with § 23 of the German Art Copyright Act (Kunsturheberrechtsgesetz), recordings may be distributed in which you appear as a participant in a public event at the Bibelhaus, while safeguarding your legitimate interests.

Liability

The Bibelhaus and its legal representatives or vicarious agents shall only be liable in the event of gross negligence or wilful misconduct. The same applies to other persons (vicarious agents), insofar as Bibelhaus must accept responsibility for their conduct. Irrespective of the rules listed here, we reserve the right to make changes at short notice due to current requirements. The instructions of the Bibelhaus staff and the supervisory personnel must therefore be followed in all cases.
